Department Introduction

Emergent and exceptional department of Annai Hajira Women’s College started in the year 2018 with spacious and well-organized laboratory. It was started to augment the chemistry knowledge of local female students, as chemistry plays a role in everyone's lives and touches almost every aspect of our existence in some way. Most importantly, Chemistry is the Central Science, Study of life and the importance of chemistry won't be diminished over time; it will ever remain a promising career path.
The department offers Undergraduate (B.Sc.) programme in Chemistry, aiming to build up the top-class chemists. The faculty of the department are highly qualified with overseas research experiences to boot. They devote their time and efforts for the well-being and the education of the students. The Department strives to inculcate in students a scientific curiosity, develop technical skills and sensitize them to social and environmental issues by arranging industrial/research-lab visits, inviting eminent researchers through the chemistry association (LAVOISE) meet and student-centric teaching methods. The department also offers Certificate Courses on Cosmetics and Personal Grooming, Food Science, Emergency and Medical Lab Skills, Applied Chemistry and so forth.
The Motto of the department is “ENGAGING HEARTS, EDUCATING FACTS AND EQUIPPING MINDS";. The focus of the department is not only educating the chemistry facts and equipping minds but also on holistic development of the students by engaging their hearts with the values of life.
